Today, there are more than 750 Oklahomans and 100,000+ people across the country are waiting on a lifesaving transplant. MaxQ, has partnered with LifeShare Network to develop groundbreaking organ transport technology aimed at saving more lives. This innovative collaboration, designed to optimize the time and efficiency between organ recovery and transplantation, will begin testing a new device in November 2024.

Currently, many organs are transported in Styrofoam containers, which limit the time and distance for safe transplantation. MaxQ, with its extensive experience in cold chain solutions, is working closely with the LifeShare Innovations team to create a more reliable, eco-friendly alternative that will redefine the standard for organ transportation.“Our mission is to create a zero-waste solution that enhances LifeShare’s ability to safely transport organs and tissues,” said Saravan Kumar, CEO of MaxQ Research LLC. “This collaboration is a critical first step toward developing a more efficient and life-saving system.”

The new MaxQ Shipper, specifically designed for organ and tissue transport, will feature integrated temperature regulation technology, real-time monitoring and tracking systems, and enhanced environmental protection to ensure safe and effective delivery. “We are excited to partner with MaxQ on this project,” said Clint Hostetler, Chief Operating Officer at LifeShare. “With this innovative design, we are confident that we’ll be able to share this life-saving technology with other Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) across the country and bring hope to families nationwide.”

MaxQ and LifeShare plan to introduce the new device to the OPO market early next year, with the goal of improving transplant outcomes and providing a higher standard of care for organ transportation.
